Looking for peacocks for film and TV? At Peacocks UK, our specially trained media peacocks have appeared in major television and film productions including Bridgerton, House of the Dragon, Rivals, Queen of the Castle and Alien Earth.
If your script says “a peacock enters the garden”, you may suddenly find yourself wondering:
Where on earth do I find a peacock for filming?
Don’t worry. You’re not the first production to ask!
At Peacocks UK, providing peacocks for film, television, commercials, photography and documentaries is one of the more unusual – and enjoyable – parts of our business.
Why choose an experienced media peacock?
A production set isn’t an ordinary environment for an animal.
There can be cameras, lighting, crew members, vehicles and lots of unfamiliar activity.
Our specially trained media peacocks have experience working around filming environments, and our birds are accompanied by experienced handlers when working on location.
This means the production has someone there who understands the birds and can work alongside the crew.
What sort of productions use peacocks?
Peacocks can be fantastic for all sorts of projects.
They are particularly effective in:
- Period dramas
- Historical productions
- Fantasy films and television
- Feature films
- Television dramas
- Documentaries
- Commercials
- Advertising campaigns
- Photography and fashion shoots
- Promotional films
They can provide colour, movement and an instantly recognisable visual image.
And if you need a bird with a bit of personality, peacocks certainly have that!
What does a production need to tell us?
When you contact Peacocks UK, it helps to tell us as much as possible about the scene.
For example:
Where is the filming taking place?
How many peacocks do you need?
What would you like the birds to do?
Is it an indoor or outdoor scene?
Is it a period drama or modern setting?
What is the filming date and expected schedule?
Don’t worry if you don’t have all the answers yet. We can discuss the requirements with you.
Peacocks for Film & TV with Real Production Experience
Our birds aren’t simply beautiful peacocks that happen to be available for hire.
Our media peacocks have appeared in Bridgerton, House of the Dragon, Rivals, Queen of the Castle and Alien Earth, as well as films featuring Gal Gadot and Jude Law.
Sussanne Chambers is also media trained and has happily appeared on screen with the peacocks herself, when the occasion required this.
That gives us an understanding of what production companies need when working with animal actors.
We travel for filming
Peacocks UK is based in Worcestershire, but we can travel throughout mainland UK for production work.
We can also discuss filming at our own specialist peacock farm where appropriate.
Our priority is always the welfare of the birds while providing a professional service for the production.
